Shown above are the doodles that I initially drew when Evelyn Davis had me listen to a Gladys Knight and the Pips song. I was listening to a song titled "I Wish it Would Rain".
Then I created 5 thumbnails after the assignment was explained. We would be using all of the lyrics to create a design, by only using words and type. I kept most of the thumbnails similar to my original sketch.  That is until I thought about the lyrics more.  In the song it's not actually raining, she only wishes it would rain to hide the tears that she is crying.  That is when I drew the silhouette of a girl crying in a puddle on a perfectly sunny day...This is the design that I ended up choosing and begin to sketch at a larger scale which can be seen below.
Above is the design of the sun and girl I created, then filled in with words so that when the lines are taken away the images will still be present.I had to modify the girl slightly due to word length etc. I used two different fonts.  For the sun I used Mrs. Eaves Roman, and for the girl I used Baskerville Italic.  In the sun I just did the outline of most of the words, and I would decide during the final production which ones to leave an outline and which to fill in.
Here is the Final draft of my lyric project, I am very happy with how it turned out.  The girl doesn't look exactly like my original sketch, but that is to be expected.  To create the face I used a carot for her nose, a parenthase for her chin, and an "e" on the end of "Peaple" acts as her lips.  Another substitute I have is that she is crying commas and quotation marks.  In the sun I left most of the words outline, only really filling in the words that were already ment to be emphisiszed. For example ones that were a larger font, or all caps.  For the rays I filled in the words "I" "Wish" "it" "Rain".
